Steering committee of NRP 79 established
The SNSF Research Council elected the members of the steering committee of the National research programme "Advancing 3R" (NRP 79).
The Steering Committee of NRP 79 is composed of eleven experts from Switzerland and abroad and is chaired by Prof. Herwig Grimm, from the University of Vienna, Austria. The members of the Steering Committee cover the various disciplines and subject areas of NRP 79.
Dr. med. Vet. Kaspar Jörger, Head of the Animal Welfare Division, Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) will assume the duties of the federal representative, and as such will ensure communication flow between the NRP and the political authorities. Together with Dr. Jenny Sandström, Executive Director of the Swiss 3R Competence Centre (3RCC), they will support the steering committee with their individual expertise.
Prof. Nikola Biller Andorno, as delegate of the SNSF Research Council's Programmes Division, is responsible for the interaction between the two bodies.
The Steering Committee is responsible for the implementation and the overall process of NRP 79 - from project selection to the realisation of the programme's final products and for scientific quality assurance.
