On 15 April 2026, the 3R community will meet at Forum Fribourg for the NRP 79 3R Fair. The event offers a unique opportunity to experience the latest developments in the 3R principles (Replace, Reduce, Refine) first-hand and help shape them.
Look forward to a varied programme with hands-on demonstrations, videos and presentations that will provide a lively insight into the current research work of the national research programme NFP 79 – ‘Advancing 3R’. Discover innovative methods and forward-looking approaches that contribute to making research more sustainable, efficient and animal-friendly. Take the opportunity to talk to researchers in person, ask questions and discuss the next steps for sustainably strengthening the 3Rs in Switzerland.

Themed tours focusing on innovation, legislation, ethics & society, and politics will be offered at the fair.

Recognition as further training in accordance with the Animal Welfare Ordinance
The event is recommended by the Swiss Association of Cantonal Veterinarians for recognition as further training in accordance with the Animal Welfare Ordinance and counts towards the following:
0.5 days for animal caretakers
0.5 days for animal welfare officers
0.5 days for study leaders
0.5 days for participants
0.5 days for managers of animal husbandry facilities
0.5 days for members of cantonal commissions
