How can complex research questions be explained briefly and understandably? The new short videos from NRP 79 show how it can be done. Counting the four new short videos, a total of 20 videos are now available online.

Four new short videos from NRP 79 offer insights into exciting new research approaches. One presents a new therapeutic approach for treating a rare bone disease that does not require animal experiments, while another sets out what a national phase-out strategy could look like.

  1. One video shows how a NRP 79 research team at ETH Zurich is developing an innovative approach to researching and treating Osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare bone disease (video in English).

  2. Does Switzerland need a strategy on animal testing? This short video shows how an NRP 79 project at the University of Basel is addressing this key question (video in German).

  3. The video by the NRP 79 research team from Geneva and Berlin presents a new model that was developed to test drug candidates against the pathogen Toxoplasma gondii without animal experiments.

  4. One video shows how a research team at the University of Geneva is developing a new platform to test drugs against SARS-CoV-2, since animal models often do not provide reliable results that can be transferred to humans (video in French).
